Uwe ZAPP

Uwe Zapp has 35 years of experience in the automotive industry, which he gained at Mercedes-Benz AG in various areas of procurement logistics as well as warehouse logistics.
He completed training as a metalworker, further training as a logistics supervisor, specialist in purchasing & logistics, and studied business administration (VWA) during his active time at Mercedes-Benz AG.
He began his career in 1989 at Mercedes-Benz AG in Wörth am Rhein as a production worker in a two-shift operation. In 1992, he moved to the central warehouse of Mercedes-Benz.
From 1999, he worked as a buyer, gaining ten years of experience throughout the entire product life cycle. A four-year stint as a material planner further rounded out his procurement knowledge.
In 2013, Uwe Zapp transitioned to supplier capacity management at Mercedes-Benz AG, where he successfully engaged in prevention, capacity expansion, and bottleneck management for ten years, oversaw relocations, and conducted logistics process audits.
Since 2023, he has been working in SCM as a supplier auditor at Mercedes.
Uwe Zapp has been a lecturer for logistics and an examiner at the IHK since 2014.
Since 2023, he has been a member of the VDA 6.8 Volume expert group, contributing to the development of the questionnaire and training concept.
