We are thrilled to share our experience from the XII Regional Automotive Supplier Conference, held from September 26th to 27th, 2023, at the unique Aquaworld Resort**** in Budapest.
This event was particularly important to us as our company celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, and we wanted to commemorate this milestone with a unique and carefully curated program.
The event’s motto, “PAST – PRESENT – FUTURE,” encapsulated our goal of summarizing and looking ahead at the industry’s changes. In the automotive industry, close relationships between automakers and suppliers, as well as advanced supplier networks, are essential for flawless, continuous, and efficient production. In this dynamic industry, events that bring together automotive industry players hold significant importance, as they provide key players with the opportunity to meet, share their experiences, and contribute to the industry’s development.
During the 2-day conference, we primarily focused on the changes characteristic of the region to provide participants with valuable and practical information.
The event hosted 247 attendees, representing over 100 companies, primarily from the Hungarian and South Slavic regions. These attendees represented decision-makers from the largest automakers and their suppliers.
The first day of the conference, as always, featured professional presentations. Of particular interest were Projects and Updates from VDA QMC (German Automotive Association), an overview of AUDI’s supplier requirements, a panel discussion on labor market issues, a presentation on changes in manufacturing conditions related to electrification, and a discussion on cybersecurity issues.
After the professional programs, attendees were treated to cigar and chocolate tastings, followed by a performance by the Fricska Dance Ensemble before the live music dinner.
On the second day of the event, attendees had the option to choose from various programs. They had the opportunity to delve deeper into important topics of interest through small group workshops, including Automotive SPICE Requirements in VDA 6.3, Product Compliance requirements, and TISAX KPIs. Participants could also explore the world of 3D printing and discuss cybersecurity issues affecting the automotive industry.
One of the highlights of the conference is always the plant visits, and this year was no exception. In separate groups, we visited the facilities of Contitech Fluid Automotive Hungária Ltd. in Vác, Gentherm Hungary Ltd., Hi-Lex Hungary Ltd., and Varinex Ltd.
Building new business relationships was not limited to the presentation sessions. We organized pre-arranged B2B meetings in our business room, allowing participants to meet with procurement colleagues from OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Regional automotive supplier conferences offer suppliers the opportunity to connect directly with representatives of automakers. This direct communication facilitates the exploration of new business opportunities, the presentation of products and services, and assists industry players in responding to current challenges and trends.
Networking was facilitated through the use of the Eventee application, which allowed participants to register for plant visits, workshops, and B2B meetings. The application also enabled attendees to track and rate individual programs and connect with other participants.
We provided exhibition opportunities for companies wishing to showcase their products and services to the potential audience. In the exhibition area, software developers, 3D printers, packaging technology companies, certifying, inspecting, and testing companies, and component manufacturers, among others, presented their activities.
Our event’s value lies in its role as a hub for both building and strengthening business relationships and for innovation and knowledge sharing.
During these conferences, participants can share their latest knowledge, experiences, and best practices to shape the future of the industry. The presentations, workshops, and panel discussions help industry players stay competitive by keeping up with new developments and trends, ultimately contributing to the continuous growth and competitiveness of the automotive industry. As a result, they bring the latest technologies and solutions to vehicle manufacturing, promoting the future of sustainable and efficient driving.
