Jens BÜHLER

CEO, Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft.

After studying mechanical engineering, Jens Bühler joined DaimlerChrysler in 2003 as a specialist for production processes and materials technology at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. After holding various positions in process design, he took over as head of production planning for the Mercedes Real wheel Architecture series (GLC and E-Class) at the Beijing Benz Automotive Company (BBAC) plant in 2014. He played a key role in the realization of the plant expansion and was later responsible for the project of the Kecskemét plant expansion.

From 2021-2023 he has been Head of global factory planning at Mercedes-Benz. As part of the management board he played an important role in the transformation of the production planning functions at Mercedes-Benz Cars and defined the guidelines for the future factories of Mercedes-Benz AG. With his extensive experience as a project manager – and with the team he leads – he has managed the company’s construction and production projects worldwide for the past three years. Jens Bühler was appointed as CEO of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft. in January 2024.

Since his appointment, the Mercedes-Benz Plant in Hungary has reached significant milestones: in 2024, the two millionth vehicle rolled off the production line; and the plant expansion, involving an investment of more than 1 billion euros, is proceeding according to plan. Production of the new models based on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform is scheduled to start in early 2026. Production of the fully electric models based on the Mercedes-Benz Electric Architecture (MB.EA) platform will also begin in 2026.
