Dr. Zsolt SZALAY
Dr. Zsolt SZALAY, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Automotive Technologies at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics
He holds degrees in electrical engineering (M.Sc.) and economics (M.Sc.) and obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2002. Member of the Hungarian Academy of Engineering since 2009.
His main research areas include the cyber security of automotive communication systems and the testing and validation process of highly automated vehicles, especially CAV technologies.
He founded Inventure Autoelectronics in 1997 and played a significant role in the development of the company’s product portfolio. More than 20 years of specialized CAN bus technology expertise enables access to vehicle sensor data. The company’s products are used with satisfaction in more than 70 countries around the world.
After representing Hungary in the EU’s GEAR2030 initiative in the field of introducing autonomous vehicle technology applications, it is currently a member of the EU’s STRIA, Strategic Transportation Research and Innovation program.
